I started with a phone call and then moved to an in-person interview at their downtown office.

The interviewer’s approach really put me off, even though I went in expecting a professional conversation.

When I asked about the work environment, the answer I got came off as not professional to me and was framed in a “military-like” way. That exchange changed the whole tone of the interview for me, and I didn’t feel respected or comfortable during the conversation.

I didn’t get an offer, and while I recognized Manulife has a good reputation in general, my personal experience with that interviewer left me with a negative impression that I couldn’t ignore.
