San Francisco, CAPosted Aug 2021 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

The process began with a homework assignment to design a product, and I made it through that initial screening step.

After I passed, I moved to a short 30-minute interview with a current APM where I again had to design a product.

Even though I’d gotten past the assignment, the live design round still made me feel really nervous. I also felt a bit underprepared going into it, and once I was in the room, it was clear I couldn’t fully shake that edge.

By the end of that round, that was it for me—I didn’t progress further. The outcome stung because I had done the earlier work, but the live design discussion was where I fell short, and it left me reflecting on how much pressure the process put on real-time
