Newark, CAPosted Apr 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My interviews leaned heavily into motion planning and controls, and that showed up from the start.

The hiring process felt organized and the technical questions were reasonable, but they expected me to think like I was actually designing.

I was asked to cover system design as well as coding tied to motion planning and control. What stood out was that I wasn’t just meant to name components—I had to lay out how I would structure the design process, discuss tradeoffs, and then implement the solution in the programming language I was comfortable with. By the end, it felt like they were judging whether my reasoning and my execution were aligned, not only whether I could recite concepts.
