San Francisco, CAPosted Feb 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

This process had a weird twist: instead of jumping straight into a live technical screen, I was sent a 500-word essay assignment on HackerRank.

I submitted it through an email portal, and it was framed like a technical step for the role.

After that round, I didn’t advance. I asked for feedback, but I didn’t get a response back, which made the whole thing feel a bit unresolved. Compared to normal interview loops, the lack of back-and-forth left me with a lot of uncertainty about what landed and what didn’t.

I didn’t receive an offer. The biggest thing I took away was how abruptly the process ended after the essay, without the chance to iterate or clarify anything in discussion.
