LinkedIn Software Engineer interview experience

SeniorPosted Jan 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I didn’t get an invitation story with full context, but I did end up looking into what a LinkedIn Senior Software Engineer phone interview typically looks like.

The common thread was that it’s usually three medium-level questions that build on each other, with a focus on computer science fundamentals.

The specific example I saw mentioned was a follow-up around the difference between process and thread. The way it was described made it sound less like isolated problems and more like a set of connected checks on whether I truly understood the underlying concepts.

I never reached an offer through this path, but what stayed with me was how narrowly they frame the phone screen around CS fundamentals rather than just generic coding puzzles.
