My screening call started with operating system fundamentals, especially the differences between thread and process, and then process synchronization.

After that foundation, I had to tackle two LeetCode-style questions: one easy tree problem and one difficult backtracking problem.

The difficulty level felt real—OS concepts plus a harder backtracking task meant I couldn’t rely on just knowing algorithms casually. I didn’t end up getting an offer.

Looking back, the part that hurt most was that the call demanded strong conceptual clarity early and then demanded performance on a tough coding problem right after. I left feeling like the bar was high end-to-end, not just in one section.
