LinkedIn Software Engineer interview experience

SeniorPosted Mar 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My LinkedIn interview loop for a Senior SWE role consisted of two back-to-back rounds focused on data structures and algorithms.

In the first round, I got a problem and worked through it, but the bigger moment for me happened in the second round.

In that second DSA round, I made a mistake about the direction I should take—I initially mistook BFS for something else and started working toward memoization like it was a dynamic programming problem. For a while I kept pushing in the wrong conceptual lane, and near the end—within the last several minutes—I was told I was going the wrong way. I took the hint and pivoted quickly to the right approach, but I didn’t get enough time left to code out the full solution.
