Lexmark International Software Engineer interview experience

Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My process started with a written test, which set a pretty clear tone for how technical the role was going to be.

After that, I had a telephonic interview that also took the form of a Skype-style video chat, where the discussion stayed firmly on the same kinds of skills the test had pointed to.

The difficulty level felt high overall, and by the time I got to the HR conversation, I was already mentally worn down from the more focused technical steps. That HR part was more about the process and logistics than anything dramatic, but it still marked the end of the loop. I didn’t end up with an offer, and I left feeling like the early technical bar had been the deciding factor.
