My first step included an assignment and coding, and the format was pretty focused on getting into real work rather than only discussing theory.

After I completed that, I went into two interviews where the tone was calm and the interviewers felt easy to talk to.

They dug into what I’d actually done in my past work, so the questions weren’t generic. I remember feeling like the key was to be ready to walk through the details of my work without panicking, since they kept the conversation grounded in the substance of what I had built and learned.
