I started with a basic recruiter-style call where the conversation stayed pretty light and practical.

They went over my availability, asked why I wanted to work there, and then we talked through my strengths and weaknesses. The recruiter also shared a little about what day-to-day work looked like at Kohl’s, and the whole thing stayed low-stress.

A short while later, I had another quick remote conversation that felt similarly straightforward. I remember it moving pretty fast, covering the usual questions and basic fit—nothing unusually technical or hard to unpack. What stood out more than the questions was that the pay didn’t end up being compelling enough for me to continue.
