I went through interviews that initially went well, and the start of my first weeks included strong feedback.

Everything felt promising early on, and I genuinely expected my trial period to play out normally.

Then things changed abruptly. Suddenly everything I did was described as horrible, and I was let go before the trial ended. The reasons they gave didn’t make sense to me, and they didn’t line up with what I’d been told at the beginning.

My reflection was that the emotional whiplash was the hardest part. Even though the interview stage had been positive, the later reality made me question how consistent the evaluation really was once I was actually in the role.
