Seattle, WAPosted May 2023 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I applied for a Software Engineer opportunity and found the process very easy but frustrating due to a verbal offer that didn’t hold.

Recruiter outreach + verbal offer attempt — I went through communication that ran long, and I was told verbally that I had been offered a position.
Offer rescinded / decision reversal — after the verbal offer, the company backed down, leaving me disappointed and annoyed that the outcome only became clear later. Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer, and the takeaway was that even an easy process can feel poor when decisions change after the fact.
