Boston, MAPosted Oct 2025 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a Software Engineer role at KBR in a format that combined multiple technical conversations and a hands-on/team component, overall average difficulty, and a fair, upbeat tone.

Group activity + presentation — I worked on a task with other engineers and then presented my work to a group.
Technical interview (multiple people) — I went through 30-minute sessions with several interviewers who asked about Java, databases, Struts, and system implementation.
HR interview — A more relaxed discussion of fit and general alignment. Outcome: No offer; the technical depth was there but mostly in a moderate/easy range, and the interviewers were generally friendly.
