My first step was a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager.

It lasted about 45 minutes and focused on getting a clear read on my motivation, my past experience, and how I fit the job.

There were also some technical questions mixed in, but the center of gravity stayed on my background and how I explained my interest in the role. The format felt direct, like they wanted to pressure-test my thinking in a personal conversation.

I didn’t receive an offer. Still, the interview didn’t feel like a maze of stages—just a straightforward, fairly standard hiring-manager discussion where the key questions were about fit, drive, and relevant technical comfort.
