I experienced a multi-round hiring funnel where early MCQs/coding determined how far I could go, and later rounds became increasingly selective.

Domain MCQ round — A domain-based MCQ screening.
Coding round — Three coding questions; only a subset advanced.
Technical interviews (multiple) — I went through three technical interview rounds, with at least one later round acting as an elimination step.
HR round — HR was scheduled after the third technical round. Outcome: No offer; the takeaway is that progressing required not just coding but surviving multiple elimination-style technical stages.
