I interviewed on-site for a Software Engineer role and it felt easy on content but uncomfortable in tone.

On-site technical round (architect-led) — I was asked technical questions with little prior context; the questions were described as basic, but the software architect’s attitude was unpleasant and not encouraging.
Legacy-code focus — A lot of attention went to legacy code, which raised red flags for me.

Outcome: I didn’t get the job, and my takeaway was that poor communication and a legacy-heavy angle can make the experience feel negative even when questions are straightforward.
