Palo Alto, CAPosted Feb 2019 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I had a very negative phone interview experience where the interviewer’s behavior made the conversation cut short.

Recruiter phone screen + live data-structure coding — I spoke with a recruiter for about an hour about my experience, then explained a binary tree, had to compute a longest path, and was interrupted quickly.
Rapid shut-down — When I began writing in a shared document, the interviewer questioned whether I used trees in day-to-day development and ended the interview. Outcome: Not selected; the takeaway is that clear, respectful interaction is crucial—this screen was ended in a way that didn’t allow demonstration of competence.
