I had a long gap after technical rounds and then received a late rejection, with HR ending the process without negotiation.

Technical interviews — I completed three technical rounds.
Hiring manager round — I also had a round with the hiring manager.
HR timing and follow-ups — After four rounds, I was told I was selected, but the HR round didn’t happen; I waited weeks and sent multiple follow-ups.
Final HR update — After about four weeks, I was informed my profile was not shortlisted. Outcome: Not selected; the takeaway is that timelines and decision communication were inconsistent after early “selected” feedback.
