Indeed Software Engineer interview experience

The technical portion leaned heavily into obscure concepts that I wouldn’t expect to use day to day, and it didn’t feel connected to my actual engineering work. I remember walking away feeling like the bar was arbitrary compared to what the job itself would require.

Even though I made it through the interview stage, the process ended poorly: I was ghosted after the video interview, the same outcome that others had described. The part that stuck with me wasn’t just the difficulty mismatch—it was the lack of closure after I spent time preparing and showing up.
