My experience kicked off with a Karat technical screening that started with conceptual questions.

I got to choose two areas, and I picked HTML/CSS plus REST APIs. Those questions were clear and felt properly aligned with a software engineer role—things like recognizing HTML tag details and how I’d design an endpoint for a new inventory item.

Then the interview pivoted hard into a live coding segment. I was given LeetCode-style problems and the expectation was to solve at least two out of three in about an hour. The first problem was a greedy-algorithm challenge that felt medium-to-harder, and I couldn’t even find a close match online, which made it hard to gauge what level they expected.
