This was the kind of interview where the structure itself raised the stakes.

It started with a short presentation—about five minutes—where I outlined my key points, and then the panel moved into a longer stretch of back-and-forth questions where they really dug into my ideas.

The pressure came from how specific and probing the discussion was. The questioning pushed beyond surface-level familiarity and into how I’d run experiments and think through procedures, and I had to be ready with a prepared explanation that tied directly to the job requirements. I left feeling like it wasn’t about reciting information; it was about demonstrating reasoning under close scrutiny.
