IMC Software Engineer interview experience

I did the work myself, but the part that really got to me was the interview that followed: instead of speaking to a real person on a call, I had to record responses using a video format.

I remember feeling unusually nervous because I wasn’t used to talking into a camera without any back-and-forth. It didn’t feel like a normal conversation, and that tension made the whole experience harder than it should have been. I ended up failing, but I still walked away with the benefit of realizing how different that kind of asynchronous process feels.
