San Diego, CAPosted Sep 2024 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for the Account Executive role and found the conversation straightforward, but the specifics of the sales structure raised concerns.

Role-focused interview — I talked through my prior experiences and how I’d contribute, and they explained the cutthroat account dynamic.
Account introductions / relationship pitch — As part of the interview, they wanted me to introduce an industry/account relationship I could potentially target. Outcome: I didn’t move forward; the takeaway was that the account executive model sounded competitive in a way that didn’t align with how I wanted to build relationships.
