My interview loop combined manager and technical-lead conversations, including a hardware-adjacent systems question.

Brief email coordination with the manager — We aligned quickly over email.
Setup with manager + technical lead — I met both as part of the structured agenda.
Manager interview — We reviewed past projects and how I’ve worked previously.
Technical lead interview — I answered a single technical question about the pros and cons of larger CPU cache lines. Outcome: I did not receive an offer; the takeaway was that they assessed both project fit and specific systems trade-offs instead of long coding sessions.
