Markham, ONCandidate report, summarized by Dataford

My understanding of how the IBM software engineer loop worked came from the steps I experienced: it began with an online application and some short screening.

After that, I reached an online assessment meant to test technical or logical skills.

Then I moved into one or two technical interviews focused on coding and problem-solving, followed by a managerial or HR round that checked communication and teamwork. When things went well, an offer and onboarding details would come next.

The overall shape felt consistent and deliberately staged. What surprised me most was how much the later HR/managerial piece was treated as part of the evaluation rather than just a formality.
