I faced a difficult first-round technical interview for the Software Engineer role with a wide range of challenging questions that demanded efficient, real-world thinking.

Technical round (25 challenging questions) — I answered many prompts spanning algorithms, data structures, problem-solving, and system design; some were straightforward but others required deeper analysis and optimization of solutions, with the interviewer encouraging me to explain my reasoning step by step. Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer, and the takeaway was that breadth plus optimization under time pressure was the real challenge.
