Vancouver, WAPosted Feb 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for Software Engineer at HP IQ with an overall average difficulty, and it moved quickly from recruiter to manager in a career-fair setting.

Recruiter screen (career fair) — I discussed my projects and past experience with a recruiter.
Manager interview — I covered my previous experience and core software engineering concepts, with the focus on a behavioral/resume-style discussion rather than complex new material.
Role alignment discussion — The manager conversation emphasized how my background fit the responsibilities of the role. Outcome: I didn’t move forward, but the process felt straightforward and centered on matching my resume to the role.
