I interviewed with two people, and the conversation stayed centered on my work history.

I went in thinking the outcome might be pretty straightforward, like they were ready to move quickly.

What I noticed, though, was how the office and the people there seemed unprepared. It looked like nobody was really stationed in the front of the office for a while, and when people finally engaged, they seemed run down. I didn’t end up getting the call I expected afterward, which made the whole experience feel more uncertain than I thought it would be.

Afterward, I remember feeling uneasy about how the interview environment didn’t match the level of effort they were asking me to bring.
