ChennaiPosted May 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I went through HCL Tech’s Software Engineer hiring loop that felt more structured than other paths, with multiple eliminative stages and a final HR discussion—roughly over several weeks.

Registration / resume shortlisting — My application was screened before I received any test or interview invite.
Aptitude / online assessment — I took an aptitude-style test and in some cases it combined aptitude with a coding component.
Group discussion (GD) — In one version of the process, I went through a GD stage.
Technical panel interviews (1 & 2) — I covered core concepts (OOP/CS fundamentals), basic data structure topics, SQL basics, and project-oriented technical discussion; one report emphasized that this is where most candidates get filtered.
