I went through an HCL Tech Software Associate style process that combined tests, a fundamentals technical interview, and an HR discussion about goals and compensation.

Online aptitude / coding tests — I completed aptitude and coding-style screening.
Technical interview — I was tested on programming fundamentals, problem solving, and discussions tied to my projects.
HR round — I discussed goals, communication skills, and salary expectations. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer, and the takeaway was that both practical fundamentals and clear HR answers were expected.
