I found Halliburton’s early-stage interviews surprisingly relaxed—enough that it felt like a conversation rather than a test.

Virtual interview — A comfortable, efficient video interview where there was time to chat, answer questions, and learn about the company.
Behavioral + technical (single first round) — In another similar flow, I had one interview covering behavioral and technical topics with kind, helpful interviewers.
Career fair conversation — At a career fair, I met the recruiter in a laid-back environment, which made it easier to connect.

Outcome: I didn’t get an offer, but the takeaway is that clear communication and a low-stress rapport early on can matter.
