Halliburton Software Engineer interview experience

I went through a presentation-first interview path for Software Engineering where I explained past design work and then handled technical questions immediately afterward, moving fast once decided.

Presentation + Q&A (panel of interviewers) — I delivered a 10-minute presentation (which ran longer in one case) about a design project or relevant past work, followed by technical questions from multiple interviewers.
Technical follow-up in the same flow — questions probed my understanding of the work I presented and how I approached structure and implementation, with interviewers acting like team leads. Outcome: I didn’t get the offer in this group’s shared experiences, and the takeaway was that you need crisp, defensible design narratives because the Q&A starts right after.
