My interview process had only a couple of big steps, but it was high-pressure in terms of what they asked me to do.

There were two interviews: one with HR and one with the CEO. The HR conversation was meant to determine whether I was suited for the role, and then if they liked what they saw, I’d move forward to the CEO stage.

The CEO interview was explicitly about sales execution. I was expected to role play convincing a merchant to work with Groupon—essentially demonstrating how I’d sell value and handle the situation. I didn’t receive an offer, but I appreciated the directness: they weren’t just listening for interest, they were testing whether I could perform the pitch in a realistic way.
