Right before one of my scheduled calls, I got an email saying the position had been filled.

It arrived less than half an hour before the interview time, which instantly made the process feel unprofessional and disrespectful of my schedule.

That wasn’t the only time the logistics felt shaky. In another round, I ran into lateness from an interviewer, and it threw off the cadence of the day. During a coding challenge, the interaction also felt off: the interviewer didn’t really engage and didn’t offer input, even though the setup implied real-time problem solving rather than a silent observation. There were moments where it was hard to tell whether I was on the right track.
