I interviewed for a Google Cloud Software Engineer role and went through a standard set of stages spanning recruiting, technicals, and a cloud-specific design check.

Application + initial step — I started with an online application submission.
Technical interview (algorithms + systems) — an interview focused on algorithms and system-level thinking.
Behavioral interview — a round to evaluate interpersonal skills and how I approached collaboration.
Cloud architecture design evaluation — a design assessment intended to test my ability to design cloud architectures on Google Cloud.
Outcome: I didn’t get an offer, and the key takeaway was that the process explicitly included a cloud design component beyond generic coding.
