My technical interview was long and very hands-on.

The screen was shared with two team members, and the whole session ran about two and a half hours. Instead of a casual discussion, I was dropped into two troubleshooting problems right away.

First, I was asked to address an Nginx issue that wasn’t working, and then I had to fix a database error. The format felt like sustained diagnostic work, with enough pressure that I couldn’t just talk through ideas—I had to actually drive toward fixes while staying coherent under time.

Even though the exercise was structured, it was difficult enough that I didn’t reach an offer.
