GitLab Software Engineer interview experience

I’d invest a lot of time preparing and completing the stages, then I would eventually get rejected without any meaningful feedback.

The most upsetting pattern was the lack of transparency. I wasn’t given constructive reasons for the decision, even after reaching deep into the process. In multiple rounds, the final interview even felt like it involved the same person, which made the absence of feedback feel even more stark.

By the end, I never received an offer. What lingered was the feeling that the time and effort spent by candidates wasn’t valued enough through the final communication.
