I went through an intense, multi-stage process for Software Engineer that combined troubleshooting basics and a stressful in-person technical/culture evaluation.

Recruiter phone screen — a call to gauge personality and experience.
Short technical interview — a brief 30-minute session focused on basic IT/troubleshooting.
In-person technical + culture interview — an extensive 2+ hour evaluation with deep technical questioning followed by a culture-oriented discussion.
Offer + background check — I received an offer a few days later and then completed an extensive background check. Outcome: I got an offer, and the takeaway was that the hardest part was the final on-site where both technical depth and fit mattered.
