Genesys Software Engineer interview experience

Toronto, ONPosted Aug 2025 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My experience centered more on process and communication quality than on technical depth, with some interviews being easy concept-checks and others involving serious delays or ghosting.

Recruiter screen — a short, polite conversation where the interviewer started with a joke and asked mostly technical concepts around JavaScript/React/Java and OOP, without a coding test.
Scheduling/communication breakdown — in another attempt, I was told a second technical interview would be scheduled, but I received no follow-up and had to chase repeatedly until the portal showed rejection. Outcome: I didn’t get an offer; the technical part was easy for one round, but lack of transparency and timely communication hurt the overall experience.
