Gartner Account Executive interview experience

BarcelonaPosted Jun 2025 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I ran into a confusing AE process where the scheduling materials didn’t match the role I applied for, and the interview felt procedural rather than conversational.

Recruiter screen — a short, casual call that seemed straightforward and focused on explaining the role.
Mismatch email + document prep — I received PDFs to prepare, but the content was for an SDR role, not Account Executive.
Interview confusion — during the call I was asked to repeat what I said because the recruiter was taking notes, and when I referenced the AE role, I was told I was actually interviewing for SDR. Outcome: I didn’t move forward—my main takeaway is that role alignment and communication mattered as much as interview performance.
