I interviewed for a Gartner Account Executive role as a graduate and found the process difficult mainly because the sales role-play didn’t match my strengths.

Intro with in-house recruiter — I joined after being approached by the in-house recruiting team and went through multiple stages.
Sales role-play (later stage) — The third stage included a sales role-play that felt awkward for me, and I realized I may not have been well-suited to sales.

Outcome: I didn’t move forward; the takeaway is that role-play can quickly reveal fit beyond resume experience.
