I interviewed for a Software Engineer role at Garmin and found the process more uncomfortable and opaque than difficult.

Multi-round structure discovery — I learned it would follow a three-tier flow (HR/recruiter, technical, onsite), and that they wanted a reference from my current manager if I received an offer.
Compensation/salary pressure (early round) — I was asked directly about my current salary, which made the first round feel off.
Outcome: No offer; the deal-breaker was the tone and process friction rather than my technical ability.
