G-Research Software Engineer interview experience

The interview itself was almost entirely solitary: the only exchange with the interviewer was a quick question about whether I was more comfortable with Java or C#. Then I was handed a set of problems and a computer to implement them, with Windows in front of me and both Visual Studio and Eclipse available.

I had about an hour to turn the tasks into working code. There wasn’t much back-and-forth beyond getting the problems, so the whole thing felt very focused and pressure-heavy. I remember it being clearly difficult, and I ended up failing that coding session.
