Fractal Data Engineer interview experience

No offer

Medium

Negative

IndiaPosted Aug 2022 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

The first question from the interviewer set a negative tone immediately—they challenged me about why I wanted to change companies and made it clear they wouldn’t continue until I answered in a way that satisfied them.

I tried to respond positively and explain my reasoning, but the attitude stayed difficult.

Even though the conversation turned on that one expectation, it still felt like I was being judged in a way that wasn’t aligned with a normal technical evaluation. That initial friction affected the experience before I could really get into the work-focused parts of the interview. I didn’t get an offer, and the main takeaway from my side was that the process started with a lot of guardedness rather than a fair exchange of information.
