My hiring journey started with detailed questions about the projects I’d worked on, and they didn’t shy away from complex architecture discussions.

I was asked to dig into big-picture design and then zoom into data warehousing concepts in a pretty thorough way.

The interviews felt hard and very evaluative—by the time I reached the later discussion, it was clear they were judging my depth on architectures and whether I could reason through tricky scenarios, not just recite buzzwords. I cleared the rounds, but the offer didn’t happen after salary discussions. They asked for my previous salary and seemed unwilling to pay closer to market expectations for a senior role, and once I shared my ask there was no meaningful negotiation.
