Boston, MAPosted Jan 2021 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My interview process ended up taking a lot of time and still didn’t lead to the role I originally applied for.

I started out applying for an associate researcher position in retail. After a basic HR interview and a phone screen with the manager, I did a group interview with six people over three hours, plus an hour-long data/proofreading exercise.

They decided not to hire me for that retail track, but kept passing me to other research teams I wasn’t interested in. With each handoff, I felt like I was drifting farther away from what I had wanted in the first place. Somehow, I ended up in a completely different area like security and risk management, which was obviously far removed from retail.
