Fluor Software Engineer interview experience

ChennaiPosted Jun 2016 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

My interview kicked off with a technical round where I could talk through what I knew, and it happened with one or two people focused on technical questions.

If that went well, the process moved me into HR and then into salary discussions. What surprised me most wasn’t the questions—it was the tone of the salary negotiation, where they tried hard to reduce numbers by comparing items like leaves and bonuses. I got pulled into that process, even though I felt it wasn’t going the way I expected. I didn’t get an offer, and the whole experience left me feeling like the negotiation details mattered as much as the technical part.
