United StatesPosted Mar 2023 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for a senior software engineer position, and the outcome turned on my system design.

The experience overall felt positive, and I didn’t leave with any major complaints about the process—just a clear sense of where I fell short. The feedback I received was that my system design wasn’t strong enough for the senior level.

I didn’t get the offer, and I honestly agreed with the direction of the feedback. The interview felt constructive, but it reinforced how heavily the senior bar weighted system design compared to the other parts.
