My journey felt a lot more uneven than the typical “smooth progression.” I started with an HR screen and then an online coding assessment that used CodeSignal-style questions—some of the problems weren’t described as extremely hard, but the time pressure was brutal enough that I felt like the test was more about racing than demonstrating my thinking.

Even when I got a solid score, I still didn’t get through, and the rejection happened fast.

When I did reach live rounds, the experience didn’t get better. I had a situation where a live coding question was paired with another developer and the problems were on the easy-to-medium side, but the overall interview didn’t end in an offer. I also ran into a recruiter call that felt awkward and disengaged, so the whole conversation didn’t build confidence.
