Expedia (IT) Software Engineer interview experience

SeniorPosted Mar 2026 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

After a recruiter call, I was scheduled for a technical screen with an engineer.

That session asked me to solve two coding problems back-to-back, and the focus was very classic algorithm work.

The first problem was about merging intervals: given a list of [start_time, end_time] pairs, I had to figure out how to combine overlapping ranges. The second problem was a job scheduling optimization task—maximum profit scheduling—where I needed to decide which jobs to take and compute the best total profit. I worked through both by building the right structure, explaining my reasoning as I went, and then coding the solution.

Overall, it felt like a concentrated algorithm check
